We sang to Jesus of His goodness and grace.
We laughed at announcements and joy.
We heard about how marriage is a picture of the gospel.
We took communion and remembered the cross.
We asked when we could get dinner or coffee together.
We celebrated new babies.
We ate some chicken.
We ate some ice cream.
We all joined together and cleaned up.
My heart breaks for my friends who have given up on finding this, on finding community, on finding a family, on finding joy. God did not call you to isolation, dear friend. And he didn’t just call you to go sit and hear and leave alone. He called you to be part of His building, His body, His bride.
He has done all thisso thatyour joy may be complete [John 15], and so that He would get the glory [Romans 11].
Give your life to the church. It’s well-worth it.
